The American Composer in Residence for 2005 is Emmy Award winning former Santa Barbaran,
Bruce Babcock. The Festival artists are excited to present three world premieres by the Bruce this summer:
a new string quartet entitled “the present moment,” a new sonata for violoncello and piano, “imagined/remembered”
and a set of three piano “Metaphors.” The Festival artists will also perform Babcock’s
“Trio” for clarinet, viola and piano, and “Soliloquy” for solo flute.
